The Documentation of The NOAA Nim


The Nonhydrostatic Icosahedral Model, NIM, is a new grid mesh multi-scale global weather model its final stages of development. NIM's innovative documentation has been designed to include all of the following features: a clean and well commented NIM Fortran code; individual public, user's, and modeler?s interfaces and guides; a variable database; individual model routine derivations and documents; and the development of figures to illustrate the fundamentals of the model. NIM has been uniquely documented so that the entire community, and in particular modelers, users, and the public, can clearly understand and use the model as well as benefit from the model?s forecasts and research advances.
